MAP Performance Task

On Friday, we went to the computer lab for one final MAP practice time. This last question involved the performance task, which is a writing prompt. The prompt could ask the students to write any of the three types of writing - narrative, informative, or opinion - so we discussed reading the directions carefully. All necessary resources will be found within the prompt. There's also a checklist, which each student can use to need what to see what to include within their writing and/or verify that their writing has all of the necessary components.

The students said typing so much on a laptop felt funny, but they persevered.  Afterwards, students shared their informative essay with a friend who used the checklist to give some stars and wishes. It was a productive day in the lab and these kiddos are ready for the test!
