Presentations

In social studies on Monday, I reviewed the expectations for our American Revolution presentations.  As viewers, students would be expected to take notes and document at least two new facts that they learned from each presentation - people, dates, or just something interesting. They have time afterwards to ask questions and/or discuss with their groups, in case the presenters moved too fast.

Once everyone had the notes page, we got started. The first group to present were the French and Indian War experts. We learned what caused the war, and that it wasn't between the French and the Indians, but England and France. After that, the presenters on the Sugar Act discussed the tax on sugar and more, plus how the colonist reacted and problems the tax caused. The presenters in both homerooms a did wonderfully: they were experts on their topic, shared the information with ease, and included the audience with questions.

We're looking forward to learning more about England's taxes and how the colonists reacted tomorrow. Stay tuned!
